Treatments Targeting Wrinkles

One of the first effects of aging on our skin is the appearance of wrinkles and folds. Fine wrinkles start developing around the mid-twenties and usually become noticeable during the early thirties. Skin folds can begin to appear on the cheeks and across the neck typically in your 40's and 50's. Wrinkles and folds develop due to a combination of reduction in skin collagen and elasticity with age and repeated muscle contractions in the face over time.

Wrinkle and fold reduction treatments can target many of the problem areas on our face and neck including:

  • Frontalis (forehead)

  • Glabellar and Corrugators (frown lines)

  • Orbicularis Oculi (crow's feet)

  • Depressor Anguli Oris (marionette lines)

  • Mentalis (chin crease)

  • Accordion lines (cheeks)

  • Perioral (barcode lines)

Science-based Skincare

Science-based skincare promotes the restoration of collagen in the skin. Typically, skin care treatment alone show improvement to skin texture and reduction of fine lines by 8 weeks with appropriate application. Anti-aging effects begin to show within 9 to 12 months. Treatment of deeper wrinkles that have etched into the skin often cannot be fully removed however skincare paired with other appropriate treatments can significantly soften the effect of these lines restoring a more refreshed appearance.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Plasma rejuvenation is ideal for people who are looking for 'all-natural' treatments. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments use your body's own regenerative capabilities to improve skin texture, radiance and remove fine lines and shallow wrinkles. This therapy utilises a concentrated form of platelets extracted from your own blood plasma which stimulates collagen production and growth factors. PRP treatments are science-backed and well established in the cosmetic and medical field. The effect of the treatment is minimally invasive, with little to no downtime, making it an ideal option for those seeking natural and long-lasting results.

Bio-threads

Bio-threads are fine surgical-grade self-dissolving sutures that are inserted in the subdermal layer of the skin. The presence of the threads prompts the body to activate collagen production. With correct application this treatment can show significant skin smoothing over wrinkled areas and acne scars, and, tighten sagging skin on the face and neck. Bio-threads are TGA approved and depending on the type of threads used, results can typically last between six months and two years.

Wrinkle-Smoothing Treatments

Wrinkle-smoothing treatments can work in two ways, either by temporarily reducing muscle movement in specific facial areas which diminishes the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles or by addressing lost collagen by adding volume to smooth the problem area. These treatments result in a smoother, softer complexion and can be used effectively to slow the formation of static wrinkles and address the appearance of deeper established wrinkles. These treatments are non-permanent where reduction in muscle movement is typically restored within 3-6 months and treatments targeting lost volume can last between 12 and 18 months.  The effects are also highly localised to the targeted area and, when administered correctly by a trained medical professional, these treatments can offer considerable wrinkle reduction while still maintaining facial expression and harmony.
